Love, and the tragic play Sanstesticles
The surge of nostalgia has finally passed, and I'm now enjoying a semi-constant mental movie of scenes from my life backed with the song that was my last post's title. So that's good. :)
Now, there's someone I can't get out of my head. I'm pretty sure we're one of those relationships that never end, despite separation of distance or time elapsed. But timing hasn't been kind to us when we try to get together.
They're going there, I'm busy with someone here, blah blah blah. It's lame.
Well, it's good too. The time apart has let us both grow as people tend to do, but I'm tired of the time apart. But what to do?
Hope hope hope hope hope. And try to fulfill that resolution for New Years. And genuinely care regardless of how things work out. Which I do.
And, of course, I have my own preference of how things work out. If it comes to pass, I'm sure you'll notice a spike in the positivity of my blog. ;)
And now, completely unrelated to the above...
Sunday as I was roaming around reading news I was getting pretty pissed off. Want to know why? Dig the sort of headlines that appeared to be the Theme of the Day:
Officials Probe Child Rape in Sri Lanka. There's the one they mention in passing of a guy trying to molest his granddaughter, but the one that got me was the one about the seventeen year old that was washed ashore after losing her home and entire family and was then promptly gang raped by six men.
Then I read the charming article Daycare Worker Charged With Abuse, Child Rape in which a sixteen month old girl was abused. An excerpt: "Police were alerted on December 22nd. The child's mother picked up the baby at Tots' Learning Center and noticed her diaper was on the wrong way. When she changed the diaper, the mother noticed blood on it and took her baby to a hospital. "
Next came Teen Says Nurse Sexually Abused Her in which an eighteen year old woman who was in the hospital said that a nurse came into her room throughout the night and sexually assaulted her. She was sedated for the pain and unable to move, but was aware of what was going on.
Pastor Faces Sex Crime Charges is another charming one. A youth pastor who molested at least one kid when he was six, and another boy from the time he was ten until he was seventeen. The money quote: "Enersen (the asshole in question) admitted that at least once he pulled the boy out from beneath his bed, after he had hidden there in fear."
I'll admit it, I'm a reactionary sometimes. If we end up debating the relative merits of such and such an issue, I'm much better than when I get pissed off at the sheer volume of people doing things that are just inexcusable.
That said, at the moment I wish that worldwide it was that when someone commits rape, they're castrated/sterilized and so is anybody sharing 50% of their genetic code.
That's right, your kids and parents get the same treatment. Why? Partly to prevent from passing down any tendencies towards violence towards your fellow humans via procreation, and partly because it appears that the majority of the world seems to feel more of a responsibility or at least pressure to act a certain way from those they are related to.
If it was enforced, think cases of rape would go down? Sons of bitches.
